The McKay Wedding - Scott and Jessica wed at Terry Hills Golf Course - Batavia NY - Lass and Beau
Scott and Jessica, both from Caledonia, chose a fall wedding because they love the foliage. Who would have guessed that in October, this day would also have been one of the most beautiful of the year? The sun was shining bright for them as they celebrated a day that will forever be one of the happiest of their lives.
Our favorite moment of the night happened right near the beginning while we were with Scott as he nervously stood in wait for a first look at this bride. A pep talk from a best friend and a little liquid courage went a long way. As Jessica walked up to him on the arm of her father, she was stunning in her lace gown. When Scott turned around his eyes lit up and the love he felt for her was written all over his face.
As friends and family started arriving to Terry Hills Golf Course the whole room was filled with excitement. Guests found their name and seating card in a card catalog - which was a perfect touch to Scott and Jessica's book themed wedding. Both avid readers, the tables were given names of authors in lue of numbers and the settings were beautifully filled with vintage books. Each guest was given the couples favorite book as a thank you for them to take home. The tables looked lovely, with so much attention put into the detail.
The talented Amanda Ashley provided the music as Jessica walked down the isle to Scott. Some highlights from the ceremony included the vows the couple wrote for each other, a wine box ceremony and readings of some of their favorite quotes from books and movies. We love ceremonies that are filled with both sentimental moments and laughter - and Scott and Jessica's perfectly illustrated both their fun side and their sincere love for each other.
Guests laughed along as the wedding party playfully provided some fun entrances as they were announced into the reception. The speeches also had the crowd laughing as both the best man and the maid of honor shared some entertaining stories. After a delicious dinner catered by Terry Hills Golf Course, the night rounded up with a cake cutting and dancing. The couple shared their first dance together as husband and wife while Amanda Ashley sang "It Started With a Beer". Jessica shared a dance with her father and Scott danced with his mother as his groomsmen belted along to the chorus of "I Will Always Love You".
In the end of the night it was clear that the room was filled with people who were abundantly happy for Scott and Jessica. As family and friends danced and laughed the room was filled with celebration!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. McKay!
